On December 17, 2016, 14 medical professionals from the US, including transplant surgeons, interventional radiologists, orthopedic surgeons, trauma surgeons, emergency/combat medics, will be going to Kurdistan as volunteers to treat wounded Peshmerga and help support Kurdistan's overwhelmed public health system. With an estimated 10,000 wounded Peshmerga soldiers, as well as many of the 1.8 million internally displaced Iraqis and Syrian refugees in need of health care, medical expertise and supplies are at critically low levels.
They are bringing with them approximately $600,000 in medical and surgical supplies, which will be used in surgeries and donated to KRG medical facilities.
$5,000 is urgently needed to cover some of the costs of the trip. Please consider donating to help make this trip successful.
